Awakening from a Deep Sleep by Linda Berry

Reader's Comments upon reading the manuscript

What a profoundly moving book. As I read the last poem I was awestruck by the significance of the manuscript. The emotional experience was intense, filling my body with warmth and light especially my heart. Tears easily flowed as I read the last words. I thought -- What an amazing book! I learned so much. It made sense that life is a challenge and takes a lot of courage to stay in the game. To ask for help and accept the help in ways that are unexpected. For most of my experience to date I thought I might never reach the feeling of connection with God and myself.

I began to read this book to myself and soon found I could "experience" the book on a feeling level by reading it out loud. The poetry interwoven within the text also allowed me to feel emotion and have a deeper understanding of the message. It helped also to clarify the information. I learned also that reading aloud helped me to connect on a different level and to avoid distraction when traversing the written information especially at the beginning. I was so happy when you began to explain the meaning. I felt enlightened. As I continued to read the repetition of the information helped the ideas become more familiar. Some of the concepts which appeared confusing and beyond my ability to understand began to make sense. Now I felt wow this now makes sense. It was an experience of something you really don't know, probably can't really understand but somehow you get a glimpse of God and All That Is, our connection with the Divine.

I learned so much. Most of it I have never read. I got a better understanding of the role of the Goddess and God and the role of polarity, yin/yang, etc. The awesome connection to God- the love and support of God for each of us. How and what we are to ourselves and others makes a profound impact on all of us. It has made me more aware of our interactions, thoughts and deeds, our acts of kindness or negativity. Wow!
